February: Carnival in Casale Monferrato.

Every year there is a parade of floats organised by villages of the Monferrato area, as well as groups and associations. The parade starts at about 2:30pm and finishes at 5:30pm with a party in the market square where there is the possibility of sampling mulled wine and "bugie" ("lies" - the carnival biscuit) - free for all. Other events to celebrate the Carnival are taking place in Casale around the weekend of the Carnival (i.e. the last weekend before Lent).

March: "Golosaria nel Monferrato"

A festival of food of the Monferrato and Piedmont region. So far it has been hosted in in two of the great castle of the Monferrato region: Camino and Vignale. Details of this event will be available every year near the time.

May - "Riso & Rose" (Rice & Roses) - Villages of the Monferrato region.
Celebrate Spring with fairs and festivals through the region. Villages take part in the celebrations at different times, so the whole month of May sees events going on here or there.

September: Participate to the "Vendemmia" (harvesting of the grapes) by spending a day with a local producer, helping the workers in the vineyards or try a real "wine safari" over a couple of days! 

September: "Festa dell'uva e del Monferrato" - Festival of the grapes and the Monferrato - Casale Monferrato. Celebrate the harvesting of the grapes and the new wine.Take part in banquets and fairs throughout the weekend! 

September: "Palio di Asti" - Medieval horse races in the heart of the town - Asti.
A weekend set back in time with festivals and parades culminating with the horse races on Sunday.

October: Truffle festivals are taking place in various villages over several weekends. Enjoy the local markets of regional products and off course the truffles. Events and exhibitions will take place at different times in different places each year.

December/January: "La cantina dei presepi" (The cellar of the nativities) is opened to the public. Nativity scene are arranged amongst demijohns and old wine bottles with simplicity and unique taste by Andrea Gandini. Don't miss it!

 

All year round:

  • Enjoy a visit of the winery "Livio Pavese" in Treville or "Vicara" in Rosignano Monferrato. Let the experts reveal to you the secrets of wine-making!
  • Enjoy a tour "Antos" natural products factory and bee farm. Take a few minutes for popping into their little shop full of goodies!
  • Have a game of golf  in one of the many golf courses of Piedmont, mostly within an hour's drive from Treville.
  • Have fun playing tennis  at Signor Boltri's private tennis court, 10 minutes' walk from Villa Mimma.
  • And why not? Arrange for a horse ride at "La Valisenda", the closest stable to Villa Mimma, less than 10 km away.
  • Visit the Roma town of Acqui Terme and experience "the Roman way" - Il Percorso Romano  - in the Roman baths of the Grand Hotel Nuove Terme, in the heart of the town.
  • Visit Turin and the Egyptian Museum, the second largest collection of Egyptian antiquities in the world.
    Great trip even with children, who love the mummies and treasures.
  • Visit Genoa and the spectacular Aquarium, opened for the millennium.
  • Visit Stresa and Lake Maggiore. Take a boat-trip to the islands - "Isola Madre", "Isola Bella" and "Isola dei pescatori".
  • A popular destination with kids is the Safari Park  at Varallo Pombia where you can meet one of the rarest lions species: the white lions.
  • If you are looking for shopping trips, you have a wide choice of places: Valenza and the gold craftsmanship, Milan and the latest italian fashion, Serravalle with its modern and ever-expanding outlet, Vigevano and its shoes.... Just ask and we will point you to the right direction.
